While speaking to Sun Newspaper, Bisi said Nigerians pretend a lot about their sex lives and even though she mostly sells men and female underwear, she wonders if it is a crime to sell sex toys too.

‘If I sell sex toys so what? Nigerians are a bunch of hypocrites. They make issues out of non-issues. When I travelled to London I saw some newly wedded couples buying sex toys but back here, Nigerians believe that those that buy sex toys are harlots. In fact, there is dignity in the use of sex toys. I am not into the sales of only sex toys but there is a big market for them.’

Bomb Blast Rocks Emab Plaza In Abuja

Barely a month after two explosions rocked Nigeria’s capital Abuja, scores of people are again feared dead in Emab Plaza in another explosion.
The bomb, concealed in an Abuja Taxi, went off at the popular shopping centre after it was dropped by an okada rider.
An eyewitness told Channels Television that the bomb was dropped at the exit point of the plaza, where a mini taxi park where passengers are picked by drivers.
Channels Television’s Lucky Isawode reports that the yet to be identified man dropped the bag and the blast occurred minutes later at about 3PM.
Isawode said: “On arrival we saw many dismembered bodies on the floor” but added that  officials from NEMA are trying to put out the fire and evacuate the dead bodies from the floor”.
He, however, couldn’t confirm the actual number of the bodies but reported that about 30 cars are badly damaged; burnt beyond recognition”.
The blast, which went off at the entrance of the plaza, has damaged the shops at the outer part, leaving the ones inside in a good condition.
The men of the Department of State Security, Nigeria Police, National Emergency Management Agency, Civil Defence and other security officials have cordoned off the place.
The blast is coming hours after a bomb exploded at Kasuwar Kuturu in Mubi, Adamawa State. The blast in Mubi was said to have been targeted at a military patrol vehicle, though there was no casualty in that incident.
Adamawa is one of the three states under emergency rule due to the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents.

Cheating Husband Runs Over Pregnant Wife With Tricycle

A four month pregnant housewife named Njideka narrowly escaped being killed by her husband, one kingdom Ike who allegedly ran over her with his tricycle for interfering in his relationship with his lover.
Njideka who is from Okigwe local government area of Imo State was said to have travelled to her village and on her return home, she caught her husband kissing and cuddling with his lover in their matrimonial home.
An eyewitness, Mr Robinson Akunesi said the husband and his mistress were about leaving the house after their alleged romp but before the wife could utter a word to ask what he was doing with another woman in their home, he jumped into his tricycle , which he uses for commercial purposes, and ran her over.
The eyewitness revealed that the woman was hooked to the side of the tricycle and dragged along for few kilometres before she was rescued, adding that she was saved by the grace of God.
Leadership reports that the pregnant woman was taken to a nearby clinic by a good Samaritan for treatment of the injuries she sustained during the incident.
The husband reportedly fled with his mistress after the incident.

Newly Elected Fayose Promises To Leave Government House In 2018

The newly elected Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, whose inauguration will take place on Oct 16 2014, promised not to run for a second term in office and assured that his deputy, Dr. Olusola Eleka, won’t succeed after Fayose’s tenure expires in 2018. This information was made available to newsmen during a media conference in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, 22 June.
As the Nigerian Constitution does not allow an elected office holder for the same office more than twice, Fayose will have to quit in 2018.

“I have taken one and I will take another one in October. After that, I will find my way to my house. Again, I have chosen a deputy governor and I have told him from the beginning that the two of us will pack our load and leave the Government House because I don’t want a deputy that will start playing politics behind me when we are in government and will be distracting me. I don’t want that again.”

That much I know because I have family and friends who live in the state, and I hear from them regularly the way he governs the state. But it was rumoured that you collected N5m from him to feature at the 2014 Children’s Day celebration in the state. What’s your reaction to that?
There is no iota of truth in it. I never at a point collected a kobo from him. I don’t even know him one-on-one. The rumour also has it that both of you are in a sizzling romance, that’s’ why you were invited to the May 27, 2014 celebration? It’s not just untrue but laughable.
But were you truly the only actress invited for the ceremony and did you actually attend?
I wasn’t the only one invited. What happened was that there was a book reading session organized by Best of Nollywood in conjunction with the Rivers State government, and celebrities were invited, among whom Alex Ekubo, Yomi Fash Lanso, Dayo Amusa, Olaitan Ogunbele and others. I was also invited but I was out of the country then. So, I couldn’t attend. I think it was the initiative of Rivers State government. I wasn’t the only actress invited for the programme. So, I don’t know what could have informed such rumour.

Eight Killed In Explosion At Kano School Of Hygiene, One Suspect Arrested

At least eight persons lost their lives on Monday, June 23, in an explosion that took place at the Kano School of Hygiene along Sabuwar Kofa in Kano State.
According to the Commissioner of Police in Kano state, Adenrele Shinaba, who confirmed the number of casualties, the blast occurred at about 2:05pm at the School of Hygiene which is located along Bayero University Kano (BUK) road in Kano, and has suffered similar attacks in the past.
Addressing reporters at the scene of the blast, Mr. Shinaba also said several others were injured and have been taken to the hospitals for treatment, while lifeless bodies of the affected students have been deposited at the morgue.
During the explosion, 8 vehicles parked withing the premises of the owned tertiary institution were damaged.
The Commissioner disclosed that a suspect was arrested in connection with the blast at the scene as he ruled out car bombing of this latest attack.
"Every lead seems to point at suicide bombing, unlike our previous experience none of the vehicles parked inside this school caught fire and there is no hole around to suggest a car bombing but all leads are still open for investigation," Mr. Shinaba said.
The Commissioner further disclosed that , while the injured are receiving treatment at undisclosed Government Hospital.

Reportedly, the school is adjacent to the private residence of Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar.

One Killed, One Beheaded, NURTW Worker Abducted In Ogun

A clash between two rival cults claimed the lives of two people with one more being abducted in Ijebu Ode area of Ogun State, western Nigeria.

One of the victims was killed at Osimore Street, another was shot and beheaded at Ajegunle Ijada area of the state. It was assumed that the attack was a retribution for the previous attack of Eiye cult group members.
A member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, identified as Razaq, was shot at his residence in Oketun Street, Itantebo, Ogun State. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital wherefrom he was abducted by his attackers who followed him and scared people away by chaotically shooting into the air.
The armed Eiye cult members did not remain aloof, they also traced one of the rival group men to a football field and started fire. However, the man scaled the fence and got out of sight. The skirmish started at the premises of Moslem Primary School 2, Isoku, off Ijagun Road on Sunday morning, June 22. Frightened residents of Ijebu-Ode township are begging for measures to be taken to suppress the cultist groups.
One of the witnesses said, “I think something must be done urgently to salvage us from these small boys who are killing everywhere. They shot someone on Sunday and we rushed him to a hospital. But surprisingly, some boys stormed the hospital and took him away. As I am talking to you now, no one knows the whereabouts of the abducted man.
We have been searching for him since then. We even heard that they came back this morning to look for a boy they shot earlier, but his relatives have taken him out of the town. You need to see how the boy with the help of his family fled the town. He was disguised as a woman before they could take him out of the town.”
When PM News correspondents visited the Ajegunle-Ijada area of Ijebu-Ode on Sunday evening all shops, bars and joints which normally close late during weekend stopped doing business around 7:00 p.m. Also several vehicles of anti-crime military personnel of OP MESA were seen in the town.

Beautiful fair-skinned Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim has claimed her marriage with Kwadwo Safo is officially over.

In the statement released by her publicist Bunmi Odunowo she confessed that the two had been long separated, but had kept it secret for the sake of their 3-year-old son Jayden, The NET reports.
The statement reads in part:
"Her [Ibrahim's] decision to keep the divorce on the low was so that the two involved would not be distracted from their responsibilities towards the child they have together. However, Juliet Ibrahim has found it necessary to let her fans know today that, she filed for a divorce and it is final."
There was also a call in the message for people to treat the "difficult but necessary decision" with respect, so the innocent child didn’t undergo the unnecessary suffering.
It would be recalled that earlier this month Safo debunked the circulating rumours about the alleged crash of their marriage saying that their bond was intact.

7 Girls, 4 Boys, Hotel Manager Arrested By NDLEA For Drug Abuse, Illicit Trafficking In Kaduna

Seven girls, four boys and a hotel manager were arrested on suspicion of drug abuse and illicit trafficking by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Monday, in Kaduna.
The information was made available to the newsmen by the Kaduna State Commander of the agency, Mohammed Jibrin. According to him, 11 kids were nabbed in a hotel room taking psychotropic substances, eight of them were students in junior classes. Their parents had already been invited to the command for interrogation and counselling.
"Hard drug abuse is a universal phenomenon that cuts across all levels and strata of the society; It is no respecter of age, sex, religion, ethnicity or nationality. However, a greater percentage of those that fall prey to this nefarious scourge is the youth. The fact that the youths represent the future workforce and leaders in any society makes it absolutely necessary to find lasting solution to the drug phenomenon," Mr Jibrin said.
Between January and May 2014:

• The command arrested 210 drug suspects, including five women, with drugs weighing over 1074.02kg. Eighty of them had been convicted and were sent to prison.
• The command discovered and sealed an illegal lab in Zaria, producing fake drugs from ordinary powder, expired chemicals and substances that are detrimental to human health.
• The command was also involved in the rehabilitation of drug addicts. The agency, offers counselling and rehabilitation services to drug addicts. The Drug Demand Reduction Unit has admitted 64 of such addicts since January 2014.

“A total of 37 addicts have been counselled, rehabilitated and reintegrated back into the society. There are currently 20 addicts in our facility undergoing this process in Zaria,” Mr Jibrin said.
During the meeting dedicated to the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking the theme of which is "A Message of Hope: Drug Use Disorders Are Preventable and Treatable" the Commander stressed out the necessity for communities, parents and other stakeholder to support the fight against drug abuse and trafficking in the state.

3 Young Men Shot To Death By STF Officers At Birthday Party

A birthday party turned to tragedy after men suspected to be the Special Task Force officers opened fire on youths in Jos, Plateau, on Sunday night, June 22.

According to several unconfirmed reports, three young men have been killed and many were seriously injured by STF officers in Jos this weekend. The incident was said to be provoked by a fracas between the Joenice Bar owner and the angry youths at Nyango Gel, Bukuru Low cost Area.
When security operatives arrived on the scene they suppressed the youths by purposefully shooting them down. During the operation three persons were killed while others sustained injuries. The affected were sent to hospitals for treatment.
The grieving father of one of the victims, Mr Nantel Miri, said that he still could not believe that the STF members whose responsibility is to provide security for the citizens could kill them for no reason. He demanded for justice and appealed to the STF Commander to ensure the punishment of the soldiers who carried out the acts.
Reacting to the allegations, Spokesman for the STF, Capt. Ikedichi Iweha, said, “I can tell you that nobody was killed at Joenice. The soldiers only responded to a distress call of the man who said the youths were picketing his bar and threatening to kill him if he refused to pay them a rent.”
